Sleep

Things to do to help get a good night's sleep:

-Sleep in complete darkness. Get room darkening shades and make sure all little lights from chargers, clocks, computers, etc are off or covered.

-Go to bed at a set time every day and get up at a set time.

-Get at least 6 hours of sleep, 7 or 8 is better depending on your age. Children should get more.

-Make sure your feet are warm enough. If cold feet keep you awake put on socks.

-Use 100% cotton sheets.

-Don't sleep on your stomach.

-Don't have any electronic devices within 6 feet of you.

-Make sure your room is cool enough. It is better to sleep in a 60 degree F room with blankets than in a warm room.

-Pray or read spiritual books just before falling asleep.

-Don't eat or drink anything for a couple of hours before bedtime.

-Eliminate all processed foods that have any chemicals in them. For example: MSG, preservatives, dyes, natural flavors, unnatural sweeteners, bad fats (margarine, vegetable oils) etc.

-Do a good examination of conscience, make an act of contrition and firm resolution of amendment. If you are aware of grave sin on your soul go to Confession as soon as you are able.

-Make sure to do some strenuous exercise each day or every other day if possible. This releases a lot of toxins caused by stress which will help your body relax and have rejuvenating sleep.

-Don't watch TV or look at a computer for at least an hour before going to bed.

-Try to have your bedtime be 9 or 10  since most reparative sleep supposedly occurs before midnight.
